Classes

We offer classes in 2 age ranges – P1 to P3 and P4 to P7. Each class has a maximum size of 12 children and lasts approximately 50 min.

The younger children mainly use the foam swords and there is a lot of emphasis on games that develop balance, co-ordination, speed and timing. Basic technical terms and the FUNdamentals of fencing are covered. The classes for older children use plastic foils and there is more emphasis on technique and tactics and the development of a greater range of skills while continuing to offer plenty of games to improve all-round physical ability.

Each term usually lasts between 8 and 12 weeks but there is no problem joining part of the way through a term as our expert coaches will soon get you up to speed. Our secure online booking and payment system through WorldPay is in place to give you confidence when booking online. Their is a one off £45 registration fee which includes your Fencing Fun welcome pack. If you are booking a subsequent term of classes, please tick the "Already Enrolled" box when registering for a new term. Please note that the classes at Kirkliston,  Cockburnspath & Vidlin (Shetlands) do not have a registration fee but participants do not receive a Fencing Fun welcome pack.
